If you've been out and about in the past few weeks, you may have come across our newly rebranded Humpty Dumpty Ale pumpclip. Our idea here was to associate our flagship bitter with this summer's flurry of cricketing activity, including the Ashes.
The phrase "Give it some humpty" appears to have originated with Ian Botham in the 1981 Ashes series, where he delivered a stellar performance, scoring 149 and leading a turnaround that saw England claim the Ashes that year, 3-1.
For this pumpclip, we've worked once again with James "Doodling Jim" Browne, who earlier this year designed our Bad Egg pumpclip. On his blog, Jim tells the story of the Humpty Dumpty pumpclip design through all of its iterations. Once again you can see how we've worked through from some rough ideas to a winner of a final clip that captures the whimsy of the brewery mascot.
The beer itself remains our classic light best bitter at 4.1%abv. For that real thirst this summer, give it some Humpty!
