Brewery Freehold

The partners are delighted to announce that we have completed the acquisition of the freehold premises of Humpty Dumpty Brewery.  We're staying put here in Reedham.

When we took over the business in 2006, we signed a 5-year lease on the premises. That created an element of future uncertainty with regard to our location and business continuity.  We are pleased to say that we have resolved that matter and are now in a position to start to invest for the future of our business in its current location. 

For those who have been by the brewery, you can imagine that this will include improvements to the grounds and buildings - eventually also the bungalow outbuildings.  There's a lot of work to be done, but we're ready to get stuck in!

For those who haven't been by the brewery, why not come by and see for yourself?  We will be having an open day on Sunday June 28th (12 Noon - 5PM) after the Humpty Dumpty 10k race.  You don't have to run to come by and sample the beers, meet the partners and have a look around the brewery. 

Capital Idea!

Humpty Dumpty ales will be getting a rare outing in London over the coming two weeks as a range of our beers will be guests at the Bricklayer's Arms, CAMRA SW London Pub of the Year 2008.  Beers to be featured will include

• Little Sharpie, 3.8%

• Reedcutter, 4.4%

• Cheltenham Flyer, 4.6%

• Humpty Dumpty Porter, 5.4%

• Broadland Sunrise, 4.2%

• Bad Egg, 4.1%

• Norfolk Nectar, 4.6%

• Swallowtail, 4.1%

The Bricklayer's Arms is a friendly neighbourhood pub just around the corner from Putney Bridge. Come have a taste of Norfolk in the heart of the capital.

Royal Norfolk Show 2009

The brewery will once again have a beer tent at this year's Royal Norfolk Show on July 1st and 2nd at the Showground.  Our tent will be located in the Village Green area (site S13), and we'll have a wide range of our beers on draught, as well as wine, cider and soft drinks.  We're right by the stage where much of the family entertainment and demonstrations take place, so you'll have an excuse to sit down and enjoy the show and hopefully some sunny weather with a pint or two of Humpty Dumpty.

Wherryman's Way Article

For those who saw the first part of our article on real ale along the Wherryman's Way in last month's Suffolk CAMRA magazine, Last Orders, we are linking the full article here.  We wanted to make sure the details of the full walk are available so that people can complete the journey this summer.  We have also put a link to the article over on the right side of the webpage. 

If you are looking for an excellent weekend (or more) with loads of real ale, we can't recommend this walk highly enough.  If you do decide to give it a go, stop by the brewery and let us know!

Humpty Dumpty 10k Race

 

In association with the Great Yarmouth & District Athletic Club (GYDAC), we are pleased once again to be sponsoring the Humpty Dumpty 10K road race, a race for all levels of competitors.   The race will be held on Sunday, June 28th with a 10:30 AM start from the Reedham Village Hall (NR13 3HL).  This year the brewery will also be sponsoring a running team, Team Humpty, in aid of Freethorpe First Responders.  Come out on the day to participate (registrations are limited) or just to watch as up to 400 people race through the quiet country lanes around our beautiful Broadland village.

After the race, the brewery will be hosting an open day, with tastings, snacks and brewery tours.  Come by for a visit and enjoy the countryside this summer.
