You can now find a range of our bottle-conditioned ales at the Little Beer Shop in Blofield, Norfolk. The new shop, run by the Uncle Stuart's Brewery folks, is located inside the Blofield Leisure Village (map). The shop is brand new - only a few weeks old - and stocks beers from nine East Anglian micros. As a bonus, the shop has an on licence and you can drink your purchases on-site at the premises, which also includes a garden centre, farm shop and outdoor recreation shop.
We got out to some of the pubs that were stocking our beers over the Bank Holiday.
Saturday took us to The Lobster in Sheringham, where our Swallowtail was among the beers included in their "Bit of a Beast" beer festival. Lovely pub; well stocked festival. And afterward we had an outing on the North Norfolk Railway pulled by a vintage steam engine.
On Sunday we went to the Woods End Bramerton, where they had both Swallowtail and Cheltenham Flyer on the handpumps. This is a wonderful place to spend a summer's afternoon, very kid-friendly. You can do a 3-1/2 mile circular walk (note: pdf) that starts and finishes at the pub.
On 19 May 2006 Norfolk Broads Brewing LLP entered into agreement to purchase the Humpty Dumpty Brewery from founder Mick Cottrell. Under the terms of the agreement, Norfolk Broads Brewing will take over all operations of the brewery and shop on completion, and will continue to operate from its location at Reedham in the Norfolk Broads.
